Happy New Year!

For many, the new year symbolizes a fresh start, a clean slate. But despite the research showing that most abandon their new year's resolutions after a few months, the lure of the new year, new you is just too tempting.

Yes, improving health and well-being comes from allowing ourselves to change, grow and evolve. But just as essential for growth is creating space to reflect, observe, accept and be who we are. The active "doing" and the passive "being" are the yang and yin; both necessary for vitality. We see this reflected in nature over the course of a year, with seasons of growth and seasons of dormancy.

Unfortunately we (and society) don't always allow time for the latter. Some research call this “white space”. It's in the quiet corners of our day - journaling, sipping coffee or tea without multi-tasking, meditating, gentle stretching, a quiet nature walk, or a silent car ride - that allow us to reflect, realign, and gain clarity. And it's operating from a place of calm, clarity and alignment that generates creativity, true motivation and sustainable change.

I've created a video to help you carve out some quiet space and set meaningful goals this month by identifying your health values. But remember, January is an arbitrary month. We have permission to reset and realign with our values and goals any time of the year!

Watch the video below to learn why aligning with your health values is essential for sustainable change, and how to identify your own.
