The Whole Nourishment Rebrand: Behind the Scenes

This year, I've been working A LOT behind the scenes on rebranding my website so that it accurately reflects me as a person and the way I support my clients.

Running your own business is hard. And rewarding. And when you're in the helping profession - it's personal, too.

When you reach out to a coach or therapist, you need that person to be REAL and HUMAN.

Of course, as professionals, we want to maintain appropriate and ethical client boundaries. But, as a behavioral food therapist and human outside of this work, I don’t want to mirror the toxic positivity and perfectly polished façade we often see on social media.

Our people need to see we are right there in the human experience with them, just maybe additionally equipped to offer a trained perspective and set of tools to assist them.

My website is the digital platform for my humanity. Much more than social media (which I’ve never been able to embrace – more on that later), I expect my website to:

  • offer a container for honesty, authenticity, and safety

  • encourage pausing and slow(er) consumption

  • be a welcoming and familiar side door for those looking for support, hope, perspective, and connection, whether that’s through working with me directly or using the free resources on the site and in my monthly newsletter.

For five months now, I've been working to create better alignment between the story the site tells and who I am in and outside client sessions. To get here, I’ve been*:

  • Writing

  • Dictating to my copy editor

  • Creating the visual storytelling with my photographer

  • Building a new color palette and aesthetic inspired by elements of my non-work life (including my wardrobe, home, and spirit) with my graphic designer

  • Developing the actual site

  • And processing it all with my own people

So yes. This business is personal and emotional and hard. And it’s the behind-the-scenes roller coaster and evolutions that overlap and intersect with my personal life that make it extra interesting.

While I don’t share many of these nuanced overlaps online, I touch on the essence of them. Why? Because I have to be myself in my work. And by doing so, I hope it provides trustworthy perspectives, tools, and resources for you and also allows you to feel comfortable coming to me as yourself.

I hope you enjoy looking around the newly-revamped site! If you need a starting place, below are some of my favorite pages

*Partnership is something I strongly value in both my personal life and work with clients. I talk about it in the Values section here. If you’d like to hear me talk more about how I use partnership in my life and how I see it impacting mental health and well-being, leave a comment below or reach out to me directly.
