Katie and I have now been working together for two years. The work we’ve been doing has led to my complete transformation. It all began with me turning towards myself. To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what that even meant. But I‘ve always felt an undeniable trust in Katie from day one. I’m tempted to list here all the things that happened after that, but I won’t. For my journey is as unique to me as yours is to you.

Katie gives over a part of herself in her work that I’ve never quite experienced working with anyone else. Her own grounding, intuition and calmness have had a profound effect on me and in my life. I see now that I found Katie standing at the entrance of a path that I had chosen in order to make things right for myself. Katie has helped me to realized I am indeed Whole.

There aren’t enough words to explain how grateful I am for Katie and the work she has done with me. Over the last year and a half Katie has helped me change my life and take control of my mental health, physical health and psychological health. Katie and I have spent the last 18 months working to overcome my disordered eating and unhealthy relationship with working out, both that stem from deep rooted childhood trauma. We went to extreme depths of my mind and thoughts to map out where triggers were coming from, why they were present in the first place and how to manage them. Katie asks me thought provoking questions and allows space for all of my emotions, which has been a safe space I’ve needed.

Katie has truly, without a doubt, changed my life and the work she is doing is incredible. Without her, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy vacations, try new restaurants around the city, spend quality time with friends or enjoy my favorite sweet treats. Katie has given me freedom over my life!
— Madison

I have been working with Katie for around 9 months to develop positive body image. Katie offers a safe, non-judgmental space; I felt at ease from day 1 of working together. Katie’s attention to detail is second to none; she picks up on throwaway comments and subtle cues, then digs deeper to really get to the root, unpack and challenge thoughts and behaviours. I really enjoy Katie’s style of questioning, coaching and her unique perspectives that challenge me to reflect and grow.

Our work together has had a really positive impact on my personal growth as I work towards self acceptance and ultimately, self-love. I would not hesitate to recommend Katie to anyone looking for a food therapist.
— Stacey

I began working with Katie when I was struggling through a difficult health transition. I credit Katie, and my work with her, in carrying me through this transition, accepting the changes to my body and learning to embrace the “new” me. I have benefitted from her results-oriented approach. By this I mean that she offered resources along with her valuable guidance on whatever was on the table. She provided me with tools from which I learned about, and incorporated, self-compassion, emotional awareness, a better understanding of values and how those values affect the choices I make in my life. I must say that oftentimes, I felt “stuck”, as if no progress were happening. It was at these times, when I was at my lowest, that Katie held space for me, listening with her own compassion and making me feel “heard.”
— Cathy

Working with Katie was game changing for me. I’ve struggled with body acceptance and negative self-talk around food for most of my life, and working with her has helped permanently shift my perspective. She comes with a very light touch, guiding you to a healthier place at your own pace. Her calm energy and depth of wisdom on the topic of food therapy helped me unpack my myriad of issues around food and even go deep into sources of those issues on an ancestral level. The result: I feel more at peace with my food choices and I am much more able to understand where my feelings around food originate. I think everyone could benefit from Katie’s support. Her teachings have helped me listen more to my body, have more compassion with myself, and truly look at myself with more love. I recommend going to her as long as you can - the more support you have, the better off you will be.
— Katie

Working with Katie was amazing! The most important things she does to enable growth are: 1) deeply and actively listening to help you make sense of behaviors and thoughts that are often so deeply ingrained they become automatic even when they’re not really helpful or reflective of your values or beliefs; 2) deeply understanding your goals and motivations and ensuring that the work is continually aligning with your goals.

Since working with Katie there have been a few major changes I’ve noticed in my relationship with food:
*Trying new foods, especially in social circumstances, is no longer an anxious experience. I feel more empowered to experiment and decide what I do and don’t like without fear of judgement from myself or others.
*I feel more secure in my values based approach to eating, and more comfortable asserting my needs.
*I have a deeper understanding of the roots of my fears, and am more capable of recognizing bad patterns before they overwhelm me.
*I am better at working with my perfectionism/ all-or-nothing thinking, and more capable of appreciating progress even when it’s not 100% of my ideal.

A couple of really cool things have happened since working with Katie. First, I have been able to continue my intuitive eating journey without challenges and even when on vacation. An old mindset would think, there were many temptations while being on vacation and access to our many favorite foods. However, I felt fully in control. I was able to have favorite foods and listen to myself to stop when I felt full, not stuffed. In fact, I had shaved ice once and then didn’t have it other times it was available because I felt satiated from the prior time.

Second, I did an even deeper purge in my social channels to remove more ‘diet culture’ toxic language and images from my feeds. I’m learning to identify when I read or hear it (among friends) and be able to say to myself, that’s not for me. I’m on my own journey to be healthy.

Finally, I’m increasingly comforted in knowing I may or may not be at my lowest weight and I will be ok with that. I was also really proud of myself for not gaining weight over the holidays in spite of enjoying many of my favorite foods. That experience proved to me that these mindfulness skills, attunement to body and emotions, and intuitive eating work!

Katie worked with my teenage daughter, encouraging Sam to be mindful of developing strong self-care habits. The impetus for asking Katie for help was a concern I had: Sam was gravitating toward night-time eating as a habit while watching tv, eating when bored, making poor food choices when at boarding school, etc.

The self-care that Katie advocated was wonderfully broad and, for Sam, was very powerful. She gained much-needed awareness of healthy dietary habits, learned to understand and modify emotional eating, and developed calming evening routines. To buttress my daughter´s summertime twice-monthly sessions with Katie, we tried to make at least one meal a week at home, using Katie´s delicious recipes, which added some practical cooking lessons too!

Katie is a strong role model and is approachable and kind. Sam learned and listened to Katie because she is calm, cool and reflects the healthy life she is trying to help others develop. Suffice it to say, time spent with Katie was exceptionally valuable for my 15-year-old. The habits that Katie helped Sam develop will serve my daughter well throughout her life, and I couldn´t be more grateful for Katie for her work.

I came to Katie to learn about intuitive eating, to identify where I still have a diet mindset and to understand my emotional triggers and healthier, non-food, ways to deal with them. Since working with Katie, she’s helped me to see how long-ingrained thoughts create patterns and habits. I’ve become more aware of the voices making my choices, and I give myself greater permission to eat things I really want to eat that I’ve been depriving myself of for years. I really appreciated Katie’s full attention; I felt seen and heard and understood. She had a great way of making me feel comfortable and at ease talking about uncomfortable or shameful topics.

When I was referred to Katie by my doctor, I thought our work was going to be about nutrition, but as her title suggests (Behavioral Food Therapist) it was about much, much more. Katie offered dozens of delicious recipes and a review of good-for-you ingredients. But she also skillfully listened and guided me to find the block I had acquired as a child; food was about nutrients, not pleasure.

I never knew until I was in my late forties that food was supposed to be delicious and be enjoyed. Getting support to remove food guilt allowed me to step into a very wonderful relationship with cooking which brought me a lot of joy and peace. Katie taught me about the aesthetics of a meal, the colors, textures, and how my mood, environment, where and how I ate impacted digestion. And the surprise was, this shift permeated into all parts of my life. I’ve learned that being nourished comes from more avenues than just food. My whole life has loosened up and I am much happier and relaxed as a result.

Katie helped me to realize how my black and white thinking about foods was contributing to my restriction/binge cycles. She helped me cultivate compassion through meditations and bringing intuitive and mindful eating to the for front. I enjoyed the huge amount of knowledge that Katie brought to the table. When I was in severe stomach pain her confidence in disease and stomach issues I was going through as well as her willingness to keep trying new options kept me sane. I think I would have otherwise gone into a depression but she gave me hope.
— Sarah

I spent so much energy every day worrying and planning around food, diet, weight, social situations, etc. Now I feel so much lighter. These topics no longer hold power over me like they used to.

In sessions, Katie allowed me to drive the discussion around what felt most important to me. I love that it felt collaborative; Katie was a true thought partner. I would recommend her to anyone who is ready to do this incredibly meaningful work. It will pay off in spades.
— Katie

When I first met Katie I was suffering from regular headaches that forced me to stay in bed, severe bloating, poor digestion, and I weighed 10kg more than usual. Before going in I was afraid of judgement or of being in a program where the approach would be prescriptive, but nothing could be further from the truth.

Katie is such an open, kind and genuine person and she taught me so much about food, how it should be digested, how my body interacts with it and what signs and symptoms to look for and avoid in my routines for better digestion and energy. But she didn’t stop there. She was very knowledgeable about how emotions impact the gut, and she provided useful tools to help me manage my emotions. She highlighted the importance of proper breathing, self-compassion and taking time during the day for myself. All things I thought I was aware of but had not truly internalised.

Now with knowledge of the foods that are right for me, how to correctly prepare them, and the emotional management tools, not only has my physical health improved but I understand myself much better, am able to practice more self kindness, and feel more in control of my gut, all while enjoying food even more than I had before! I’ve also discovered new cuisines, new ingredients and a new way of cooking thanks to the work I did with Katie and I’m forever grateful. The recipes she’s developed are a genuine delight and there’s nothing I have cooked from her website that hasn’t been a smashing success in my home.

Katie helped me make a 180 degree shift in mindset and overcome a complicated relationship with food that I’ve struggled with for years. My relationship with food has changed from one of fear and guilt to one of joy and happiness. I now feel much more empowered every time I sit down to eat; empowered to make the decisions that I know will best serve me and my long-term health goals, rather than decisions based on guilt/shame/fear.

Katie always showed a genuine interest in my progress and made me feel like she cared about my journey just as much as I did, which made me want to work even harder and helped me get back up on the “bad days”. She provided great coaching, detailed notes after every session, and a wide array of exercises and emotional and intuitive eating tools to help me break down and rebuild my relationship with food.
— Anthony, California, USA

Since working with Katie, my relationship to food and my body has made a complete 180. My goals were to become more flexible with food, not be scared of carbs and dairy, and to stop thinking people only liked me for my physical appearance. I used to be afraid of food, and I was so limited by what I ate. I weighed everything, I counted calories and I was obsessed with knowing what was in my food.

I enjoyed the coaching sessions with Katie because I knew no matter what, I had someone to talk to who was unbiased and would help me on my journey. Katie was an amazing listener and had the answer to everything. And I looked forward to receiving her notes and homework assignments after every session because I knew they would be good for me and keep me motivated.

I came to Katie for help weaning off prescription medication for acid reflux. I was really nervous about trying to stop using it after having taken it for 6 years. Katie was easy to talk to, reassuring, knowledgeable, and realistic. She helped me get my gut healthy and form good nutritional habits, then coached me through the first few weeks after weaning off of the medication, always there via email to answer questions between sessions.

I am now no longer taking the medication and rarely feel acid reflux. On the occasion that I do, I have a host of options for how to quickly combat it. My digestion feels better, and I’m more aware of how my body feels before, during, and after meals.
— Kristina, Colorado, USA

I am so grateful for my private sessions with Katie! Since the program, I’ve come to enjoy cooking as a source of creativity and self-empowerment rather than a challenge and weakness in my life.

Katie is an intelligent, personable, professional individual. I love that she shares all the knowledge she can with you. She’s helped me learn what different food groups bring to my meal and how it reflects in my overall energy and vitality. Now I can verbalize why I choose my eating habits, and I have the confidence to continue nourishing myself thoughtfully.
— Sandra, Madrid, Spain

My goals for participating in Katie’s group cooking and nutrition program were to learn how to eat a well-balanced plant-based diet, eliminate sugar, and use new ingredients and recipes to make the shifts. Katie provided good discussions on healthy fat, good gut flora, weekly recipes, & how to stock my pantry differently. The biggest change I’ve noticed is that I’m very satisfied with the food I make and eat, and my cravings for salty snacks and chocolate have disappeared! I feel healthier and the results from a recent blood test have proven it!
— Gerry, Madrid, Spain

My love of food has returned! Since working with Katie, I’ve had a renewed lease of life in cooking and preparing food. Katie has been a constant source of inspiration. She’s shared her knowledge of nutrition, eating healthy, and what it means to lead a harmonious life that’s not only about nutrition but also balance and enjoyment.
— Kathryn, Madrid, Spain

Katie is competent, compassionate, insightful, a very good listener and intuitive. The support and guidance she provided in our sessions and through supplemental materials she sent following each session was very helpful to my learning about mindful eating and living techniques and in keeping focused and staying on track. Katie also introduced and explained the benefits of certain vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts and grains that were new to me and guided me in how to stock my pantry with the staples I would need for the recipes I would be cooking. As a result I have been able to establish mindful eating and living rituals that feel right for me and that I enjoy. Through working with Katie I’ve not only curbed my weight gain and slimmed down, but I’ve also become calmer with a greater sense of contentment. Completing Katie’s program is the best thing I’ve done for myself in recent years!
— Allison, St. Gallen, Switzerland

The most significant change I noticed from going through Katie’s program is that I’ve been able to let go of my all-or-nothing mentality when it comes to food. Letting go has allowed me to feel more relaxed and more happy about myself, my choices and even my relationship with others – food is no longer something I have to conquer, control or feel guilty about. I can appreciate a good dinner with friends for what it is, instead of feeling that I just lost a battle. In 6 months I was able to change thought patterns that I had been struggling with for 30 years. Working together for several months didn’t only generate results, it integrated them into my day and made them a part of my life. This separates Katie’s program from diets and quick-fixes, it is a long-term commitment to myself. I came to Katie to make better food choices and lose weight, but I am taking with me lessons for life.
— K.S., St. Gallen, Switzerland

I came to Katie to learn more about plant based eating and increase self-awareness and self-discipline. She provided a judgment-free ear to listen, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged in a dialogue with me, rather than speaking at me. Not a single session went by without us discovering something new, feeling good about what had been accomplished and outlining next goals to build upon what had been done in previous sessions. One of the best things about Katie is that she worked within my capabilities and within my world. There were no drastic changes that were too hard to keep. It’s adding things here and there to my “normal” routine that, I feel, made this program a success.
— Grace, California, USA

I began working with Katie going into my pregnancy, as I wanted to ensure proper nutrition for my baby. Katie helped me identify new foods, tangible ways to add them into my diet and suggested time-saving strategies so that healthy habits could naturally become more routine.
Katie could not have come to me at a better time. She is empathetic, even keel and completely client-focused, and I always felt better after my weekly time with her.
— Kendall, London, UK

The biggest change I noticed since working with Katie is my new mindset and approach to food. She helped me find the root cause behind my behaviors, and she gave valuable suggestions and action steps that helped break the cycle of turning to food (I did not need!) when I was tired, overwhelmed, or needed a distraction. Katie has a lot of knowledge about food and plant-based cooking and she was able to help me find fun, delicious, and healthy recipes to create a way of eating that made me feel like I was nourishing body, mind, and soul.
